The Anthias Consulting team is thrilled to announce that we’ll be sending two of our consultants to represent us at the Pittcon Conference + Exposition 2026. Taking place in San Antonio, TX, USA at the Henry B. González Convention Center.
Dr Diane Turner, Founder, Director, and Senior Consultant of Anthias Consulting Ltd and Dr Giles Edwards, will both lead short courses in March.
Dr Diane Turner
Applied Maintenance and Troubleshooting of GC & GC-MS – 7th March
This course looks at the parts of the GC and GC-MS system requiring maintenance. Going in depth into the frequency of maintenance operations while understanding how to identify when maintenance is required. The course also looks at preparing for problems and how to identify them in the system as well as a step-by-step troubleshooting process. Participants will consolidate their knowledge gained through practical exercises on troubleshooting chromatograms. Learning how to identify problems and determine which part of the instrument could be causing issues. Overall, there is a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of GC and GC-MS, with instrument parts to observe and handle.
Applied Method Development of GC & GC-MS – 8th March
This course examines the method development process for GC and GC-MS in detail. Covering first the objectives of the analytical method and how to plan the method development process from start to finish. Next the parameters that can be optimised and the order in which to optimise them is covered. The course then provides an introduction to method performance, looking at system validation protocols and how to validate the method. Along with a final summary of method accreditation. Participants will consolidate their knowledge gained through practical method development case studies. Overall, there is a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of GC and GC-MS which can be applied to the instruments in your lab.
Dr Giles Edwards
Applied Maintenance and Troubleshooting of LC & LC-MS – 7th March
This course looks in detail at the parts of the HPLC and LC-MS system requiring maintenance. Going in depth into the frequency of maintenance operations. How to identify when maintenance is required. Preparing for problems in HPLC and LC-MS. How to identify problems in the system and step-by-step troubleshooting process. Participants will consolidate their knowledge gained through practical exercises. Overall, there is a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of HPLC and LC-MS, with instrument parts to observe and handle.
