Thermal analysis involves studying how the physical and chemical properties of a substance change with temperature. Techniques are used to measure changes like weight loss, heat flow and phase transitions and provide valuable information about thermal stability, decomposition, melting points, and crystallinity.
A technique in which the difference in energy inputs into a substance (and/or its reaction product(s)) and a reference material is measured as a function of temperature whilst the substance and reference material are subjected to a controlled temperature program.
