Anthias Consulting Ltd delivered its expert-led Hands-on GC and GC-MS course at the University of Southampton for the first time in June 2026.
The course in question
Approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry for Continued Professional Development, Anthias’ Hands-on GC and GC-MS course has now been running for 15 years.
The course provides the theory of gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectrometry (MS) essential to any participant, along with hands-on practical elements in the laboratory to practice and re-enforce the theoretical knowledge.
This course combines the five individual hands-on days covering GC Theory and Methods, GC Maintenance, GC-MS Theory and Methods, GC-MS Maintenance and GC and GC-MS Troubleshooting and delegates are welcome to join the full 5-day course or attend individual modules to suit their needs. Which is what a number of the delegates did for this June course.
The new venue partner
Welcomed at the School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at the University of Southampton, Prof Geraint (Taff) Morgan stated “Delighted to have re-engaged with Diane and the Anthias team again, in my new home. The University of Southampton is located a 15 minute car ride from the city center with The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering located in buildings 27/29/30, Highfields Campus, University Road, Southampton, SO17 1BJ. With catering provided, there are a number of offerings available to delegates to have across the five days.
Taught by senior consultant and director of Anthias, Dr Diane Turner, who has 27+ years’ experience in the field of GC and GC-MS, has said: “Having known and collaborated with Taff since 2004 it is so good to work with him again in his new home.
