Director and Senior Consultant Dr Diane Turner presented at Lab Innovations 2022 in the Royal Society of Chemistry theatre with her talk on ‘From Food to Fuel Analysis – Diverse matrices need diverse analytical techniques’. Diane discussed how diverse matrices need a diverse range of analytical techniques, giving insights into strategies for analysing complex samples and analytes.

Diane discussed how it’s best to consider the chemistry of the molecules to be separated and detected at every step of your GC-MS analysis; from sample preparation to data analysis. Diane’s talk explored the elements encountered in GC-MS analysis and how their properties can help in analysing and identifying molecules containing these.
