Lab Innovations 2019 – a great success!

Anthias Consulting enjoyed a very busy visit to Lab Innovations this year! Director Dr Diane Turner and Marketing Manager Alana Thompson visited the show on 31st October, with Diane presenting in the afternoon.

Arriving for the opening of the show, we immediately met our partners at Ellutia on their stand showcasing their innovative GCs - designed to be smaller, faster, give greater sensitivity and be more energy efficient. Having recently hosted our 1-day Absolute Basics of GC-MS course at their GC Excellence Academy training centre in Ely, Cambridgeshire, it was great to catch up and we’re looking forward to hosting further courses with them next year.

After catching up with more friends and colleagues, Diane headed over to SelectScience® to record a video talking about her latest work and discussing sustainability and other topics that Diane has recently been connecting with analysts on. Look out for the video coming soon!

Over in the Royal Society of Chemistry theatre, Alana managed to catch some of keynote Helen Arney's brilliant songs and stand-up which was thoroughly enjoyed by the packed audience.

We caught up with our partners from Providion, experienced specialists in service and repair for LC-MS systems. Providion have recently hosted our Hands-on Complete HPLC & LC-MS course at their fantastic technical training facility near Manchester. We're looking forward to hosting more of our courses next year in their modern training facility suite which is equipped with a wide variety of analytical instruments.

Diane presented in the Royal Society of Chemistry theatre in the afternoon with her talk on 'Using the Periodic Table in our GC-MS Analyses' as part of the key theme of the theatre programme celebrating the International Year of the Periodic Table. Diane discussed how it’s best to consider the chemistry of the molecules to be separated and detected at every step of your GC-MS analysis; from sample preparation to data analysis. Diane's talk explored the elements encountered in GC-MS analysis and how their properties can help in analysing and identifying molecules containing these. Look out for a free download of Diane’s presentation, available next week!

We were very pleased to attend such an exciting and busy event which has grown year on year and looks set to be even bigger next year. We're delighted to announce that Anthias Consulting will have a stand, L13, at next year's show on 4th and 5th November 2020, save the date!
