This is an LC separation technique that is used to separate out a mixture of analytes according to their size or molecular weight. The packing material particles are porous, the number of times an analyte can diffuse in & out of a pore as it migrates down the column defines its retention. Large (unfolded), high MW compounds will elute quicker than low MW compounds.
